day 30...

Happy SIXTH birthday to our sweet Adelyn Adelle!

Here is a little peek at our day...

Last night while she was sound asleep, we tip toed into her bedroom and filled it with balloons.
The kid in me thought it would be awesome to wake up to a room filled with bright, colorful balloons and Kris agreed so a mini helium tank and 40 something balloons later...

We had cupcakes and stuck to a tradition we started two birthdays ago of hitting up Frosty Treats for the first time of the season on her day & letting her pick whatever she wants. 

The twinkle cone with eyes has been the winner for three consecutive years now.

The day was pretty low key other than the above as our recent trip to the Tundra Lodge was what she chose in place of a party this year.

Now, of course I have to get a little soft...

Addie... :)

Has one of the cutest little noses I've ever seen
is just sweet from her head to the tip of her crooked little toes
her knobby knees and girly run kill me
she has sweet eyes and a sweet soul
she likes her way (me) + is stubborn. (Kris)
loves to sing, play Barbies, draw, + play school
won't eat anything that, "has wings"
is the best big sister Eden could have ever been given. honestly...awesome.

I love her and am so amazingly blessed to have been given her.
 Every year time seems to slip away faster and it's just almost scary. I wish I could hit pause and keep her little for longer but it's so awesome experiencing what you created grow up and become a little person. Especially such an awesome one.

As you can tell, she's not a morning person.
gets that from me...I'm known to respond in groans the first 10 minutes I'm awake)

One last little bit I have to add...I'm so happy that I'm able to capture these awesome times for us to look back onto and remember...where we were, what we did, how we felt...so much. I know Addie doesn't always like having a big black thing in her face (especially when she first opens her eye in the morning) but I know that one day she'll appreciate it and when she thinks about, "the time she went here...or the birthday the year I turned whatever..." she can actually go look at what it was like through what I capture. So awesome.

I do use my "real" camera on my own kiddos quite frequently. My phone is just always on hand and so easy to have everywhere as you can see from a majority of these posts :)

I spent the day crabby, annoyed, & trying desperately to get my iPhone to come back to life after it had a little too much exposure to H2O the past little while.

Day Eighteen...

We spent the day/night at the Tundra as the girls birthday present/in place of a big party.

It was the longest three hour drive in history. 

Addie first asked if we were, "almost there..." when we were in west Ishpeming. (4 miles from home)

We arrived and they had the time of their lives.

Totally worth it :)

Day 9...I failed.

 I didn't take a single picture. Not even with my iPhone.

I was doing good. SO good.

Then Eden's birthday came and went, and after only 8 days at it, I didn't make the time to keep up with my own challenge. (post a photo every day for the month of March) I realized this as I was laying in bed on the night of the ninth.

It was downhill from there...

But, here I am and I'm going to do the best I can!

On a positive note, we had family in town and we were enjoying time with them :)

(I'll do more of a post/share more pictures of her day soon. Today/this weekend is all about hanging with family and the celebration goes on throughout the rest of the month as we'll be having a few "mini parties" with family, going to the Tundra Lodge for the birthday gift to both of our girls, and celebrating big sisters birthday later this month!)

Day seven...

The last day of our baby being a one year old!

I didn't get any shots with the "real camera" today which is why I absolutely LOVE my iPhone.

Just a few shots during our breakfast this morning while we talked about all the fun we'll have tomorrow :)

I caught the little one out of her crib during what was supposed to be nap time, 
and I was able to capture a few shots before she noticed me.

Addie has been very interested in photography lately so I pulled out my old D60 for her to start playing around with and we went on a little snowy adventure.

A bit more of an artistic edit on this one than what I've been doing lately but I like it.

Day two of my daily blog posts of my girls for their birthday month. 


I'm the worst blogger there is, I always promise to do it more but it never happens.
I'm REALLY going to try to keep consistent with this and hopefully it will carry over when the month is over!

Eden being a "little lady" this morning...

March is a very special month in the Lein house as it's the month that both of our girls celebrate their birthday!

I can't believe that in just a few weeks my babies will be SIX & TWO...

Some days I wish I could just hit pause and make time stop or at least slow down a bit.

Since today kicks off the month, I'm going to start by doing a daily blog post featuring one or both of my girls.
